The drawing by W Carpenter appeared in the ILLUSTRATED LONDON NEWS of November 1858 showing the interior of the Harmindar Sahib .William Carpenter was a skilled artist who toured Indian in the late 1850s and captured many famous monuments of the Punjab including the Golden Temple and Baba Atal in Amritsar, and various scenes of Lahore. These were all published as engravings in the Illustrated London
