One day Bibi Bhani's mother conversed with Guru Amar Das ji about the marriage of their daughter. "Bhani is of marriageable age and we should find a suitable partner for her". Guru Amar Das ji inquired of her"To whom shall give give her hand in marriage?" Mata Ji pointing at Bhai Jatha Ji said "To a young man like him". Guru Amar Das Ji remarked "He is the only one like him. So let us give her hand in marriage to him". In this way Bhai Jetha Ji - who later became the fourth Guru, Guru Ram Das Ji - was chosen as the bridegroom for Bibi Bhani Ji.
