The white hawk of Shah Jahan at the Guru's camp. The hawk of Emperor Shah Jahan had strayed in to Guru Ji's camp and was captured by the Sikhs. The royal guards demanded the hawk back or the Sikhs would feel the warth of the Emperor. The Sikhs refused to yield to this sort of threatening behavior. The enraged Emperor sent a cavalry of 7000 men. The ensuing battle was fought with great ferocity and courage on both sides, in and around Amritsar where Guru Ji killed General Mukhlis Khan at which point the Mughal forces turned and ran from the battle field. |
