Guru Gobind Singh Ji dressing Bhai Sant Singh with his own clothing.

On the evening of December 22, 1704, only five Sikhs were left with Guru Ji in the fortress of Chamkaur while the enemy took seige outside. The five Sikhs stood infront of Guru Ji and said "You said that the Khalsa is you and You are the Khalsa. We beseech to leave Chamkaur. only tou can fill the disheartened Sikhs with fresh courage and continue to sow the seed of Dharam." Guru Ji could not refuse, he had no choice. As Sant Singh resembled Guru Sahib he was dressed in Guru Ji's clothing and Guru ji fixed his crest (kalgi) to his dustar.

At dawn Guru ji rode out of the fort. He stopped and clapped his hand three times " Here goes the fakir of the Hindus" he said in a loud voice. There was confusion in the enemy ranks as Guru Ji rode through into the jungles of Machiwara. Home Gallery
