Todar Mal paying in gold for the land required to cremate Mata Gujri Ji and the young Sahibzaday.

Todar Mal had heared of the imprisonment of Mata Ji and the Sahibzaday and hasted to them. By the time he reached Sirhand they had been martyred. He went to the Wazir to obtain the bodies for cremation. Wazir Khan said he would only release the bodies if he paid for the land where the cremation was to take place by laying gold coins on it. Todar Mal accepted the terms and laid the coins on the ground.
