Dauntless Sikhs offering themselves up as targets for Guru Ji's gun.

Once a Sikh of Guru Ji brought a new gun for Guru Ji and in conversation boasted that if he and his men had been with guru Ji at Anandpur at the time of the battle they would have won. Guru Ji said "I would like to try out this new gun would you be my target?" At this Bhai Dalla became very pale and did not answer. Guru Ji said in a loud voice "Is the a Sikh on whom I can fire this gur to check its effectiveness ?"

 
  hearing this call Sikhs came running fighting amoungst each other "Test it on me Guru Ji I arrived first" said one, "no testit on me I heard the command first" said another "test it on me Guru Ji for I am old and could not get here quickly." Seeing the fearlessness of Guru Ji's true Sikhs Bhai Dalla felt very small and asked forgiveness. Home Gallery
